Placements

So i found out a few days ago I am gonna be living in Belize City, Belize for the next two years. A few good things about being placed there: my house is close to the school I will be working at, there is a gym nearby, i am gonna be living on the safe side of the river, its an actual city and not a village, the airport is close and its a cruise port. The one bad thing about the city: its the crime capital of the country. Roughly 80-90% of the country's crime takes place in Belize City. Most if not all happens on the southwest side of the city.

Since my last post i've done a few things:
1. Cockscomb National Park/Preserve - a cool jaguar reserve with jungle hiking and natural waterfalls.
2. Volunteer Visit to Jungle - slept in a kechi village for a weekend, river bathing, soccer, volleyball, jungle fishing, jungle bowl making etc.
3. Independence Day Celebrations - get real drunk and sing bad songs
4. Placencia - wow beautiful Americanized vacation destination
5. Private Key - swimming and fishing off of a private island.

Far From Home,

CHRISSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!! I miss you! Will's place isn't the same without you. Did you know that they replaced your bed with an actual dining table?!?! It doesn't look right at all. There should just be a mattress surrounded by rugby bags full gray j-crew tees and a laptop open to some political debate on Youtube in the dining room, not some wooden table. Oh well. It sounds as though Belize is AMAZING and you are doing well, which makes me really happy. I imagine you are helping bunches and bunches of people and it's a wonderful thing. I hope you keep enjoying yourself and remain SAFE. As for me, life is great. HOME- I moved into my new apartment in Lincoln Park. I live with Marty Conrad, who you may remember from Miami(She made out with Gill on Green Beer Day your 2nd senior year. haha). Anyway, my apratment has a skyline view of downtown, which is AMAZING:). Work- Work is going well but nothing exciting there. Social Life- I am leaving in a couple minutes to pick will up from work and drive to Columbus OH for my best friend's wedding. Yes she is 22 and getting married. Actually you may also remember Chelsea; she is the one who's purse Ruza dumped an entire can of beer into ruining her camera and phone. (haha). Also, she is the aspiring country singer who's music you listened to briefly. Anyway she is marrying her high school sweet heart and it is very exciting. They are perfect match. Meanwhile, me and the bridesmaid dress are not a perfect match. Considering the dress is from Cache's PROM collection I look like a sixteen year old going to prom or a 40 year old dining on a cruise ship (haha). It is PURPLISH-PINK with the entire back OPEN (nearly showing the b*&t cr#@k) Sorry if that was too vivid of a adescription. Surely you don't care about these details and you have more important things to do like save children's lives than read about what my bridesmaid dress looks like. ANYWAY... I miss you tons Chris. I will try to survive the remaining time without you here but I want you to know it is NOT easy :). Take care of yourself and have fun.

Love,
Britt
